Litecoin Developers Respond Quickly: New Core Release After Network Reorg

Yesterday, the Litecoin network saw a rare 13-block reorg tied to MWEB transaction validation. In certain situations, nodes could accept and pass along invalid MWEB transactions due to a kernel sum balance not being enforced, allowing those transactions to be mined before the network corrected itself and removed them through a reorg.
Importantly, there has been no confirmed loss of Litecoin (LTC) user funds, and Litecoin’s 100% uptime remains intact.
In response, developers released an updated version of Litecoin Core — v0.21.5.4 — which includes important security updates. Users are advised to upgrade.
The Litecoin developers responded quickly.
