The first annual Proof-of-Work (POW) Summit is set to take place in Prague from 26th to 27th September 2023. The conference is a joint effort of the Litecoin Foundation and the ETC Cooperative. They aim to bring together world-class speakers and thought leaders to discuss the future of proof-of-work cryptocurrencies like Litecoin and others.

Prague was chosen as the venue for the event because it is the birthplace of the world’s first Bitcoin mining pool (Slush now Braiins Pool), a hardware wallet (Trezor), and a Bitcoin cafe called Bitcoin Coffee, seriously that's pretty amazing. The city has a rich history and the people in Czechia have been supporting Litecoin and other proof-of-work cryptocurrencies for years, making it the perfect location for such a summit.

The line-up of speakers is already impressive, with Bitcoin pioneer Charlie Shrem and now podcaster, Litecoin creator Charlie Lee and now director of Litecoin Foundation, cypherpunk Jameson Lopp who has the best bitcoin resources at lopp.net, and CEO of Custodia Bank Caitlin Long confirmed to speak. These cryptocurrency experts in the industry will discuss a range of topics, including network security, renewable and remote energy mining, privacy, and the merits of proof-of-work versus proof-of-stake.

The event organizers are currently accepting Early Bird tickets, as well as opportunities for more speakers and sponsors.
