Litecoin MWEB is locked in on Testnet today

Today, the 75% of miners signaled for MWEB on Litecoin testnet. When asked why this is important, one of the litecoin developers stated "Before activating MWEB on the main litecoin network, we want to activate on testnet. Testnet provides a safe environment to test new features without the risk of loosing real money."

The testnet is an alternative the main Litecoin blockchain and is to be used for testing. Testnet coins are separate and distinct from actual real litecoins, and are never supposed to have any value. This allows application developers or litecoin testers to experiment, without having to use real bitcoins or worrying about breaking the main bitcoin chain.

Litecoin testnet addresses end in .1, but function similar to the litecoin main network and addresses however the litecoin amounts sent and received are all test coins and have no value .

Litecoin Taproot activation window has already started. Taproot activation window started at block height of 2,161,152.

Litecoin MWEB on litecoin is expected to start in the next week or so. MWEB activation window will start at block height of 2,217,600.

The signaling of each of these upgrades can be seen on this dashboard.
