Replace Long Litecoin Addresses With A Crypto Handle

Litecoiners can now send and receive funds through the use of the FIO Protocol. Joining competitors such as Unstoppable Domains, FIO is a third-party service designed to take long complex crypto addresses and make them human readable and simple. FIO (The Foundation for Interwallet Operability) offers an accessible way to send and receive Litecoin and other cryptocurrencies without relying on complex addresses that can be prone to copy/paste or spoken address errors.

Arranged similar to an email address (e.g. litecoin123@domain), crypto handles allow users to register a custom address that allows for easier payments in non-visual situations. A common example would be paying by phone, when a QR code is not available or reading a long address is cumbersome and error-prone.

Most recently, FIO Send was integrated with Cake Wallet. The Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Monero-focused wallet can now send using FIO crypto handles, joining a growing list of wallets included in the FIO Send ecosystem.

However, it should be considered that FIO functions using a token and dPOS blockchain, and does require payment to use and maintain your crypto handle. Other options for a similar crypto handle service include Unstoppable Domains, which LiteWallet integrated last year.

Unstoppable Domains is a San Francisco-based company offering NFT domains. These function similarly to FIO handles with additional features related to website hosting, NFTs, and more. Decide for yourself if these user-friendly payment services offer value for your situation.
